Animation films Part I

This blog post is dedicated to my friend Vemana and Bharathy for they love animation films just like I do! I had long promised this to many of my twitter friends and finally I am putting this up today! Well, I of course cannot decide which animated movies are my favourite so I have just come up with a list of few must see films!

Lets start with Happy Feet! Happy indeed it was and made me extremely happy! Lol. I had the opportunity to watch it in the Dome theatre and the experience was just brilliant!

Now nothing beats this one! The Incredibles is one film I can watch over and over again and still look forward to watch it! Hahaha...awesome racy action and some cool moves...they are incredible! This is the first feature length animated film in the world! Walt Disney's Snow White is a masterpiece! They say this 2D animated film has so many frames that if you line up the paper drawings...it will go up to the moon! Absolutely delightful!
Awww...this was my first animated film in the theat…

Switch it off!

"Reality continues to ruin my life!" said this one quirky little prodigy straight out a comic strip. Imagine these words of wisdom coming through a daily comic ‘comic’ strip and then compare it to our real lives that run parallel to so much around us. So much that we can have no choice but to fall into the trap of it all. Take television for example. I am sure John Baird must be twisting and turning in his grave. What started out as a brilliant form of visuals to present to us something that we had never seen before. And today, in the most macabre fashion, we don't want to see anything that television has to offer. There are millions of tiny little questions that flow through my blood stream which catapult in a depressingly squalid feeling every time I switch to another channel. It is like that acidic bile that rises in my throat and shut my mouth in order to swallow it all over again! First of all, we are spoilt for choices. Dish, Sky and blah, have so many, many channel…

The dot com business...

[I guess something is wrong in my head. Every time I state I have a block of sorts, I get new ideas to write on! Brrr...]
Recently a colleague of mine got talking about the various dating sites. This one was called the special dates 4 U or something. Well the web page looked cool and maybe five years ago, just for the kicks I would have entered my name. Now this website was really fancy ha! It had various categories for dating. They have something as regular dating but no irregular dating. Why not irregular? Well don’t people who cannot get dates in real life enter themselves here? Sometimes I think they might be walking with their eyes shut! Okay. Maybe they are regular people with irregular [read: nil] dates. Now the dating websites have some interesting stuff too. One particular dating website will tell you if you are hot or not! Just send them a pic and they will tell if you are hot or cold. They even have a section called brides for you! What happened to the grooms or do men mostly …

New New New!

Hello! I have been really busy recently. I have suffering from all sorts of blocks...
But there is news. I am writing for a home designing website now- www.home-designing.com and B'Khush, an online mag has asked to post my blogs there! So this week I had two new things... I am kinda happy too but too busy to celebrate! Sigh...

9-Must Watch!

I quit my job as an animation features writer sometime ago and that put an end to a lot of different animation films I could watch. But I love cartoons [there is a major difference between cartoons and animation...but that's later!]
So yesterday a colleague of mine at JAM said that I could go ahead for the press show of Tim Burton's9 [he doesn't like animated films and he doesn't know what he missed!]I couldn't resist. Long ago I had read about this film. It has big producers and one of them is Tim Burton [check out Nightmare before Christmas]. 9, originally a student short film by Shane Acker won a lot of accolades in 2005 and was even nominated for the Oscars then. So making it into a full lenght animated feature film only spells 'awesome!'
Shane Acker's concept is brilliant. I would compare the film to the likes of Pixar's Wall-E and The Incredibles. Wall-E because it addresses similar issues yet the approach is absolutely different and The Incredi…

You and Me...

[writing a poem after a real long time...lack of inspiration! Last night we were talking and it poured like crazy and then all of a sudden the line was cut. We tried calling each other but no network! I can't begin to tell you how frustating it was! So finally I called him early morning and it got through...Spoke to him for a bit and went back to sleep. This is of course for Him!]
Who invoked thee? Ask I The clouds might be weeping? Thought I
The gentle pitter-patter of the rains Fall like shards of glass now, it pains
My eyes hurt as the water descends The heart fears for my vision blurs
You are to come, but when?
The warm sun rose to glory this morn And now the ominous dark clouds the skies adorn
